Dr. Keith Augustus Burton, from the School of Religion, recently completed the Certificate in Online Teaching with the Online Learning Consortium.
The year-long program commenced with a ten-week foundation course that covered essential aspects of online teaching, followed by three elective workshop intensives on Student Retention, Quality Assessment of Online Programs, and Flipped Classrooms.
The course culminated with a capstone presentation, which demonstrated how principles from the program have been integrated into a newly designed course. The topic for Dr. Burton’s course is “Worldviews in Dialogue.”
Previously known as the Sloan Consortium, the Online Learning Consortium is an international leader in e-Education. Oakwood University has been a member since 2016 and a number of services are available for faculty.
