History is the study of the past as it is described in written documents and Political Science is the study of understanding methods of governing, and describing the operation of governments.

Courses in American history, Latin America, Europe, Africa, political science, and church history, along with student-teacher interaction, will provide ethical values and a knowledge base that will meet the department’s purpose. The course offerings provide graduates with the skills needed to be competitive in graduate school, law school, and research. The knowledge gleaned from the courses taught in the department will promote a sound academic background and both spiritual and moral values. In addition, the student will learn to appreciate the diversity of a growing multicultural global society.

An anthropological and environmental study of the interaction between humans and their
environment, dealing with the origin and diffusion of man, race, and culture. The evolution of
man’s institutions from the earliest times to the present. Problems of urban growth, population
explosion, pollution, food shortages, and environmental concerns.

PS 440 : International Relations
A study of critical factors affecting the conduct of international relations. Emphasis is placed
on nation-states, global and regional international organizations, multinational corporations,
individuals in the international arena, and the forces they bring to bear on the international
political system. Prerequisite: EN 112 and PS 120.
