Today is the end of the first full week for the Spring 2018 term. Students returned to moderate temperatures as they visited various offices in the financially clearing process for the semester.
Students enjoyed the first Chapel of the semester with guest speaker Dr. Andrea King, who stressed the importance of staying on track with God for the term. Met with blazing cold weather Friday night, students bundled up for the first AYS of the year, the back to school revival, with guest musical artist Jonathan Nelson.
Following the three-day Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday weekend, students and staff were met with the coldest temperatures in Alabama so far this winter. In the state of emergency, called by the Governor of Alabama, Oakwood and other schools across the Huntsville area shut down. To some the three days off was a lovely break; for others it was a time to organize for the upcoming Spring Semester.
Today is the first day back to class since the break and students are happy to finally kick off the semester. AYM service will be held as usual this Friday.
Because of the weather-related cancellation of classes and closure of campus offices, the following school calendar events have been extended for  one week:
  • Entering classes for the first time
  • Last day to drop classes
  • To financially clear
  • Late registration
  • 100% tuition refund
