David Cort

David A. Cort, ’99 , is one of seven faculty members at the University of Massachusetts Amherst who are teaching or conducting research on four continents through the Fullbright Scholars program. This means that the institution is tied for seventh place nationally among research universities, according to the February 18, 2018, edition of the Chronicle of Higher Education . Dr. Cort’s host research institution is Walter Sisulu University in South Africa.

Oakwood alum Claude McKnight, tenor and founder of the a cappella sextet “Take 6” took time to talk with writer Deardra Shuler of the Black Star News concerning his participation in the Festival of Praise Tour. Now in its fourth year, this 48-city tour features Fred Hammond, Donnie McClurkin, James Fortune, Pastor Charles Jenkins, and Take 6.
