AEOLIANS

The Aeolians of Oakwood University was originally organized in 1946 by the late Dr. Eva B. Dykes. Since its inception, the choir has traveled widely, touching the hearts of both young and old with their inspirational singing. Aeolian concerts present a repertoire of choral music which ranges from the Baroque era to the twentieth century. Moreover, the Aeolians is an authoritative exponent of Negro spirituals and work songs which express the yearnings of our forefathers to be free. They have won a host of awards including World Choir Games Spirituals Champions, Four-Peat HBCU Choir of the Year and Choir of the World Champions 2017.

DYNAMIC PRAISE

Organized in the fall of 1988, Dynamic Praise has been a part of Oakwood Universities heritage. It has shared the stage with artists such as Richard Smallwood, Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, Donnie McClurkin, CeCe Winans, Dottie Peoples, Byron Cage, Lamar Campbell, and Kelly Price to name a few. The choir also has an alumnus roster consisting of such artist such as Take 6, Virtue, Sean Simmonds, Duawne Starling, and members of the recently winners of NBC’s Sing-Off, Committed.

VOICES OF TRIUMPH

Formed in 1994, Voices of Triumph is one of the many Gospel Choirs at Oakwood University. Along with its sister ministries–Aeolians, and Dynamic Praise– VOT is out to do God’s work and to save souls. Our mission is to spread the love of Jesus throughout the world and to encourage each other to prepare for God’s second coming.
